Im in abit of a dilema.

My insurance runs out next week and I need to take the chimaera off the road as i wil not be using it anymore for a while.

I am after an insurance company that i can just insure it for being garaged as its worth £12000 and do not want to take the risk.
It is up forsale but the market seems very slow at the moment. forsale ad is www.motorcarreviews.com/tvrchimaera.html

Im starting a new job and need to use my other car all the time as i will be doing quite a few miles and need alot of room in the back.

If anyone knows of an insurance company that offers this kind of service that would be great. I have tried a few companies but no luck so far.

Thanks
Dale

Just an idea - if it's going to be in the garage maybe your household insurers would cover it against theft? Presumably motor insurers won't give you a reasonable price if you tell them it'll do zero miles?

Nice looking car, one of my favourite colours. Unfortunately I've had to dip into my TVR budget to cover some other expenditure irked otherwise I'd be round kicking some tyres, I think I'm quite close to you (I live in Fleet). But I have resigned myself to waiting until the autumn when I should have put a few more £s aside.

Surely most Insurers will do a limited mileage deal. Just specify a VERY limited mileage (ie 1k a year).

I used to live in fleet. How funny. I moved out of fleet about 3 years ago to buy my first house and sold my Chimaera back then to fund the deposit. It was a 1994 Chimaera HC.

I now live in Hawley which is only a few miles away. If you are interested at all let me know as i could do with a quick sale. It would save sorting out the insurance etc.

If its any consolation, I was looking at your car on ebay and would be round like a shot if it wasnt for the fact I had not saved up enough yet.

Lovely colour and I know I shouldn't get hung up on these things but its the colour I was after.

I am very surprised you have not had more interest, as that is a very good price imo
