Hi - after doing a search and reading lots of posts I still need some guidance. 072 seems to be the preferred battery but size may be an issue. Having been to my local motor factors they are recommending the 075 which is a bit smaller than the 072 (Cranking 590Amps vs 630Amps for the 072). On looking in my battery box the existing failed item has space around it and looks quite small so I'm thinking maybe an 075 already fitted which may indidcate a problem making an 072 fit.

So will I be ok with an 075 ?

Cheers Dodsy

Edited to add: I cant read any numbers from the existing battery and I will be having the battery fitted by TopCats so would like to take the right item over to them !

That cranking 590 amperage is more than enough for these cars, there seems to be a bit of an obsession on this site with battery outputseekat the mo.

what a lot of fun that was ! Local motor factors dont have an 072 but quick call to the supplier came up with 089 being equivalent. I dont think so, it was the size of a small suitcase. 075 they had but the terminals are the wrong way around plus it only had CCA of 500. So off to halfords I go, they have 072's but only CCA 510. Had a chat with chappie there and he went off to dig around and came up with an 072 with CCA 580. Job done. Its about 2cm wider than the existing battery but there is about that much spare space in the box. Lets hope it fits....
