Topping up the Diff Oil
Discussion
Newbee on here, looking for advice (typical for a first post, eh?). . . Had my Chimaera 4 months now and loved every minute so far. Its a '95 4.0 de-cat model (originally sold new in Jersey where no silly EU emissions legislation applies).
I had a look to see if I could top up the gearbox and diff oil levels. Gearbox shouldn't be any problem. The diff, on the other hand, is a very different story. I think its the GKN diff in this car.
The filler plug for the diff is located high up on the rear of the diff casing and its a 1/2" square plug. Is there a special tool for getting access to this plug ? Space is incredibly tight and its impossible to get a ratchet or spanner or anything else up onto the socket or adaptor once its in place, from any angle !!
Anybody come across this before ? If anybody can offer any advice or share some knowledge it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.
