Getting ready for my impending Chim purchase, I already have a pretty good set of tools but mostly metric.

Was wondering how common imperial nuts and bolts are on the Chim (if any), and if there was a list of sizes I might encounter?

I really wouldn't worry too much, yes there are few imperials as the engine is such an old design but most metrics get around this.

Most of the engine, diff / props, suspension are imperial on mine. Mainly all the cheap bodywork 'clip ons' etc are metric. If you plan to do much work yourself, a set of imperial sockets & spanners isn't too expensive. The investment should pay for itself if only saving 1 hour of labour at a garage wink

PS Particularly imp allen keys / sockets ~ they can be problematic.

The trouble is I have a weakness for expensive tools. I have Facom sockets and spanners so would want to get the same in Imperial sizes.

So was the RV8 never updated for metric, my colleague at work seemed to think it was

There are still imperial fitments on the modern engines.
