Having gone out today I have noticed a whirring noise, I have had a listen under the bonnet and it sounds like it is coming from the alternator, it may have already done this also noticed a drop of oil underneath the diff is this normal,

Check its not the fanbelt tensioner idler bearing thats worn also(much cheaper)wink
