Didn't know they had glass in stock - or has that Scandinavian factory started up?

Just spoken to the installer where mine is booked in. He's going to have a look and see if it's a pattern clearvue windscreen when it arrives later today.

I know this topic has been here before but,

The rubber surround around the windscreen of my Chim is coming loose (understatement) and create 1 hell of a wind noise when it does pop off..

Anyone know who's best to use? Or idea on prices to re-fit it?

Can organise something for you; will need to see the car first to assess cause etc. Should be straight forward though.

I think your current solution works well. Right hand on wheel, left hand on top of windscreen holding the rubber in.....

We get our glass from the same sources that RACAW and Autoga-ga-ga-glass do. I'm not suggesting that RACAW are not good enough; they have some very experienced guys on their books. Posting the link was not an attempt to nick work from under their noses.

I had a new screen fitted by a well known company, mentioned within this thread and a new seal. My 3 year old nephew could have done better. The seal is coming away at the top n/s and o/s, the screen is of very, very poor quality (the black trim looks like it has been trimmed with a chissel) and I cannot fit the targa roof now as there is so much sealant in. Not happy at all, but don't want to go back to the company that fitted it as my experience was not a good one. I am looking for someone to refit and do a proper job.

The seal on my screen is coming away. I am in Glasgow. Anyone recommend somewhere to fix it or should I pop into Autowindscreens to get them to reseal it? Any ideas how much / how big a job to do it properly?

Cheers

Had Suninghill insurance so had to use RAC at High Wycombe last year.

They wrecked the trim - just cut it with a knife so the undefelt was showing!

Got a quote from 2 independants and had a dash retrim and new screen fitted by Steve Howard - RAC had to pay for it on their insurance or I would have sued them.

Now insure thru Manning in Henley as they use TVR indepeendants for the screen and NOT RAC/Autoglass. And they are cheaper than Sunninghill.

Sorry Glassman - wasn't suggesting you were - Justing thinking outloud. My girlfriends Chimaera is also looking poorly and is off the road mainly due to an cracked windscreen and other associated MOT failures. As it's not insured was thinking perhaps I could have taken hers to you when the time came. Sorry again - didn't want to get you in trouble and wasn't fishing for alternatives to the RAC - looks like I'm stuck with them as GroupAMA want to use them - eeeeeep

I'm thinking perhaps I'll take photos of the wings/bonnet/internior and windscreen posts before it goes in. And walk around it with the guy and get him to mark up any damage before they work so I can claim if they do any damage fitting it - quite scary this :-(
