Need a bit of advice here.Had a fantastic weekend at Rockingham until my dam car packed up in the tunnel leaving the world record attempt today. It has been running superb up until that mishap today.I filled the car up last night at the jet garage just round the corner and yes ive put normal 95 ron unleaded in the tank and am begining to think this might be the cause. After a push through the tunnel and onto the grass i tried to restart but nothing all the ignition lights on but nothing when turning the key 15min later it starts and gets me back to the car park.It drove ok the 150 mile jouney home and as a pulled up to my drive the engine died again then resatred ok
any ideas thanks

We have a slight problem here in that the dying could be totally unrelated to the inability to re-start. The hot-start problem is quite well documented, and could be the problem if you'd been trundling around for a bit. The dying in the first place is a bit more difficult, one component that could be at fault is the ignition coil, when they start to fail, they fail when they're hot by giving a weaker spark the hotter the unit gets, this coupled with the lower octane fuel could cause an issue.
I'm sure there will be other folks with different ideas, but there's one for starters..

I had a problem about a year ago which started as affecting the alarm and central locking. It seemed to go away for a while, but came back earlier this year. Then the car would cut out for no apparent reason - may be at just a few miles per hour, or maybe even at 'motorway speeds'. Sometimes it would restart right way on coasting to the side of the road, sometimes it took a few minutes - always had to reset the immobiliser though, and sometimes this would even work while still moving...
It quickly went from annoying to effectively undriveable. At that point I put it into David Batty at The Garage. They cleaned earths etc as part of the service, thought they'd found it, but no. Then David contacted Carl at 'Car & Bike Installations' and they concluded it would be the alarm/immobilser unit that they had seen several failures of recently. So, back to The Garage, where David arranged for Carl to replace the 'black box' - problem solved!
At the same time, I had Carl do the remote boot and key fob mods - absolutely brilliant mod. Seems expensive, but worth every penny once you have them. David also sorted me a competitive and convenient deal on four new fitted Toyos, and fitted the Leven cooler running thermostat and otter switch, all at the same time...
Result?:
A vastly improved car - reliable, no more worryingly high temp running, no cutting out, and much more convenient access.
To prove it, we just did our second trip of 2,800 miles driving through France and on down to Javea in South-East Spain. The car never missed a beat, even in Spanish traffic jams in small and very hot and dusty towns!
Anyway, sorry for the ramble... just thought I'd share that lot in case it was useful, and to say a big thank you to both Carl and of course David for exemplary service every time I head in their direction.
TVRs... great cars that just have to be used!!!
