It's a 2000 Chim 450.
If there is one I obviously have to remove the exhaust and plate under the tunnel to access it. Not especially keen on doing that if there's nothing to grease

Forward UJ

And Aft UJ

You'll probably want to remove the exhaust system to get good access. Check the flange bolts for tightness whilst you're there and the gearbox mounts; they compress noticeably and perish due to the exhaust heat.

Do they all have nipples or is it a case of some do some don’t ? Couldn’t see any on my 98 car, perhaps I should look again.

Of course any dicserning owner would choose nipple. But some owners aren't as fussy as others.
I wouldn't knock anyone for having the UJ's without nipples???

1. when greasing the nipples they commonly overflow on 2 knuckles - are the other 2 greased?
2. modern silicone greases are fitted & sealed for life in many applications.

Dave
PS is Dic Serning some kind of insult to said owners? biggrin

A Pair of Nipples to grease sounds the best option. I will look again

Got them on my 92 Griffith and wouldn't be without them. Lovely little things they are and something to fondle when you're lying there waiting for something to dry hehe

I think they were about £22 but it's an easy job that takes less than half an hour once you have access. The threaded studs are engaged in slots rather than holes so they just slide out once the upper and lower nuts are loosened off..

My car is off the road for the winter as usual so wouldn't be available for photo's but I'd be happy to let you have a look round it for pointers for when you look for your own if that will help.

It's on stands in the garage with the wheels and brake off so easy to see the chassis etc which is a major item to check when buying.

I'm in Macclesfield so may be close to you.

Anyway let me know if you want to call round.

Colin.
