Running like an old tart

It's running like an old tart at the minute!
So far I have replaced stepper and cleaned housing
Set throttle sensor to 3.4v
Set AFM to 1.5v (non cat - well they're not connected!)
Base idle at 2.5 turns
Problems are poor firing, hunting for a while and then cutting out, no mid range power
I'm wondering if it is a bad earth as when it rained my ignition would come on if I took my foot off the brake with the keys out of the ignition and would go off if I put my foot back on!
Where are all the earthing points? Anything else I need to check.
It's a 1993 4.6 with stage 3 heads
