Hi - Looking for some help pls relating to the fuel pump on my 96 Chimera.

Basically the car has been off the road for a couple of years, Due to the fact that my Dad had a bit of an accident in it which resulted in the car getting intimate with a Lamp Post !! ( I always thought it was teh son who was supposed to smash the dad's car up! but hey )

Anyway we have repaired the car and tried to fire it up over the weekend, But the fuel pump refuses to kick in to life.. I know the pump works as we put a feed directly on it and it kicked in to life. The imobiliser still seems to be working as when it's disabled the engine turns over fine . I have also tried to swap the relays that lay on top of teh battery.
Have checked the accident fuel cut off switch that is under teh dash on the passenger side and that seems to be ok ( although it's hard to tell ).

I have had to replace teh battery as the original was completely dead, Just wondered if I could have inadvertantly disturbed something there, but as I say I have swapped teh 2 relays over and that hasn't helped - I suppose it is possible that both of them could be faulty, but would have thought that unlikely.

So now we are pulling our hair out trying to get this to work !! Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Am desperate to get my lovely Chim back on the road

if either relay is knackered it won't work, so swaping them won't help you. Either swap them both for new, or temporarily bridge the terminals to prove which is at fault.

Hi Jason, I had the same problem about a month ago it turned out to be a relay in the passenger side footwell, Cheap and easy repair.
