According to Steve Heath it's 225/50/15
Hmmm, I believe I've got 205/55/15 on the front of my '99 PAS 450 Chim (and 225/50/16 on the back).
Though I know a few with 245's on the rear. But as for the fronts, not noticed any 225's!

Does anybody know the correct size of front tyres for a Chimaera 4L 98 with power steering?
The Chim started off with 205/60/15 on the front to make it softer than the Griff. You could fit this size or 205/55/15, 225/50/15 and 215/55/15, all of which have been used. The biggest problem is tyres; this is two fold, firstly finding tyres in the correct speed rating and then secondly finding good quality tyres. Practically 225/50/15 are easiest to source, then 205/55/15 are a little harder with 205/60/15 and 215/50/15 in UHP rubber near on impossible. Generally the PAS cars had the wider rubber but this was not a hard and fast rule.Suit yourself.

FWIW o/e spec on mine 215/50/15 front 235/50/16 rear !!!! its the speed rating that matters to insureres not size
Are you sure about that? There were so few of those that they're hard to remember. Maybe I made a mistake in typing in 55 profile for the 215 width.Am i sure about the size/speed rating - the size within reason isn't important (ie fitting a 145/45 would not please insurers), but any 15 inch between 205/60-225/50 front is likely to be acceptable, but the point being the speed rating change from Z to V is the key point relevant to underwriters.

However page 329 Steve Heath states:
Chimaera 4x PAS Front 7j x 15 225/50/15
Rear 7.5j x 16 225/50/16 1996 on !
Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

i know of another 400 with pas and those tyre sizes if that helps.
