oil usage

I recently acquired a fantastic Chimaera 450, but am concerned over the level of oil it seems to be using.

I dont get any smoke from the back end on cold starts, but am using fully synthetic 5/50. Would this smoke?

Anyone else seem as though they use quite a bit (2ltrs in the last 1500 miles) or is this normal?

that's normal, before I changed from Mobil 1 I was getting 300 to 500 miles per litre, I've changed to a heavier oil and it's much better.
