I posted a topic some months ago about starting the engine after 9 months being idle.. well the time has come to get it going again and I will take everyones advice and turn it over carefully first.. I want to know though which fuse is the fuel pump..? I have read the owners book but no explanantion of which one it is.. can anyone help..?
I have a 95 400 HC..

also if anyone can email me the secret of opening the boot I might be able to get out the jump leads..

In the footwell in the loom leading to the ECU you will find 2 silver relays, remove those and the fuel pump will be disabled.

Good luck, I suspect turning the engine over is the least of your possible troubles.

I found out where the fuel pump fuse is this morning. On the way to work and about 80m from the car park gate the car died A couple of workmates pushed me into work and John the AA man has just replaced the 20A fuse. It is located in the loom rather than on the fuse box (well what do expect really) next to a 15A one. Mine had corroded badly and was just not letting enough power through (3.5V at the fuel pump).

Well I'm back on the road now

Hi Bob, whereabout are they located...under the dash?
BTW, has the 'clonking' stopped now? Paul

No the fuses are with the fuse panel (but not on it) and ECU in the heap of wires under the battery.

The clonking was the wrong size pads fitted at the previous service !
