Going to spend most of the weekend cleaning, tidying and generally sorting the car even have the wife volunteering her assistance. Then, weather permitting, roof down and off for a drive to find some good country pubs. Just need the wife to be not so intimidated by the Chim so she can drive me home rolleyes

Hoping to see a few TVR's out and about this weekend.

Paul, sounds like mine, had the Chim 6 weeks and she was dead keen to learn - until she realised what it was like, I'm going to give her a compulsory driving lesson tommorrow.

I suggested to the wife that we find a quiet road and would go for a drive today but she said, "Not got time now maybe later" Maybe its a girl thing and thats not a derogatory comment towards TVR girls or girl drivers whatsoever. My wife is a bit of a petrolhead and has had her quick cars in the past and the points on her licence to prove it biggrin so not sure what is putting her off. She loves the car and keeps saying how "pretty" it is (better than her previous Z4 she says!)and how much she likes it.

Went to pub today with the wife ..... I drove home after having a couple of Cokes ... couple of Tanglefoots would have been better but a small price to pay 'cos of the enjoyment driving the Chim.

On this point, took my other half to an empty Sainsbury's car park whilst the store was closed. We were heading off for a hoon round Cornwall and I wanted to make sure she got to grips with the heavier clutch and erm positive gear change!!

First reaction?? She hated it!! "I hate it, I hate it, I can't drive it!!!" she said.

Told her to grab the bloody car by the balls and not let it beat her!!

After said words of advice!! And asking her to take her foot off the brake and drive, she loved it, even got a small wheel spin!!

In cornwall she had no problems and looked very proud of herself!!

smileGood girl. Thats my point trying to get my wife to drive it - don't be intimidated and take control of the car. It really is an easy car to drive once you get used to the set up. Like any car you dictate what it will do although of course respect is always there. Now "driving" the wife is another matter and can't be dictated to .... and of course respect is always there too smile

laugh Yes, you speak wise words sir!!

I wanted her to do some slow driving as you can jump behind the wheel of anything and sit on the motorway at 70mph but it's the slow town driving that our dear old chims are not that keen on.
Takes time to learn but she's getting there though!!
