I expect the pedal assembly needs oiling somewhere.

I copied this from a previous message. My local garage found this no problem, charged me a fiver to do it.

"In fact the noise comes from inside the bell housing from the clutch release mechanism. Depending on the model year the bell housing may have a inspection hatch at the bottom of it (mine did 99, T Reg) They pulled this off (so no gearbox drop needed, but access is very tight) and basically lubricated everything involved. Not only has the squeak gone but the whole release seems a lot smoother

Another possibility worth checking is the pedal itself. It is not uncommon for the pedal to rub against the steering column as you let it up, which can creak or squeak. Especially if you have the level pedals fitted. If so, rotate the pedal to move it away from the steering column.

Bummer eh ! At least I stated that I hadn't written such a concise and well writen post. I didn't post that my local garage has had to re-grease it three times since and charged me £10 last time. Therefore I paid £25 if that makes you feel any better biggrin
