How the hell does the alarm system work ??!!

It doesn't quite macth up to what it says in my owners manual. I thought if i hold the remote for a second it just does the normal alarm and interior sensor. If I hold it for a few seconds it does the alarm but not the interior sensor. The owners book says it will flash four times doing the latter but mine only ever does one flash or two flashes ??

Now i've put up with this but over the last couple of days its been 'beeping' at me as well ?? Never done this before.

So what should an alarm do on a 98 Chim please ??!!

Assuming you have a "Meta" alarm:

If you hold the remote button down briefly it will either turn the alarm on or off.
When it turns it off it flashes once.
When it turns it on it flashes twice.

If when you turn it on you hold the button down longer, it locks, sets the alarm without the micro and flashes three times.

If it beeps four times when you set it you have either got the bonnet or boot open, otherwise it won't beep at all.

Cheers !! I did find the bonnet was not shut properly so that might explain it !!
