Well it had to happen...rear window has split both sides where it folds. Anyone recommend somewhere I can go to have it replaced ? I live near silverstone so anywhere in Northants, bucks, oxfordshire is possible

Did a quick search but didnt come up with anything useful (probably user error !)

Cheers

Yeah I need one too, anywhere in Warwickshire? Maybe we should buy in bulk!

warwickshire is good too! If I find somewhere I'll let you know. Looking through my receipt book the current rear window is about 2.5 years old and cost the princely sum of £29.61 as a part. No receipt to show who fitted it though, whoever it was did a lovely job though, you wouldnt have known it wasnt original

Washed the Chim yesterday & stuck my hand straight through the window (2nd time in a month this has happened)
The stitching seems to be disintergrating

So I also need a new one, or at least the old one stitched back in
I'm in North West London

Supaglue flexible is quite good for a temporary fix

I need one too....I think mine is the original as it seems a lot thicker than others I've seen, it's also becoming harder to see through it due to scratches and the stitching is starting to disintergrate where it folds. Warwickshire or Worcestershire would also be good for me if anyone knows of anyone who can replace?

Cheers thumbup

Don't know if they can do it, but Allon White Sports Cars in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, replaced the hood on my Elan last year.
Sean is the upholstery guru and did a cracking job. They may be worth a call.

Bumping this to the top as I really need the hood fixing soon! Preferably not for silly money either. Anywhere in the Midlands?

Had my rear screen replaced by Prestege Performance at Melton Mowbray. They took the hood off got the screen replaced and then fitted the hood back on. Did a top job. Give Paul Glynn a call on 01664 481065.

How much did this cost?

If you're willing to take the roof section off and peel the hood off the fibreglass it's about a 1/4 of the cost. Got mine done this year for £60 at a place just outside Swindon. A lot more if I gave them the car. It takes a while getting it all off but not too bad a job.

Hi,

AJ's Trimming at Bourne End (near Marlowe) come highly recommended - the guy who runs it seems really sound and very helpful. I'm selling my Chim so I didn't go ahead getting the work done but he does have a very good reputation and his prices seem reasonable. Phone number is 01628 530257 or www.ajtrimming.co.uk (think I've got that right!).

All best,
Neville
