Expansion tank empty ???

Last week I topped everything up before a trip to france. drove about 120 miles and stopped for 8 hours, I checked oil and water angain (habit) before setting off to dover. The expansion tank was empty(no sign of leaks). Filled it up and set off, Checked again many times over the weekend and not a drop used. Normal running temps all weekend. I got home early hours Tuesday and the car has been in the garage since.
Today the expansion tank empty again. I wont be able to look at it till Monday afternoon. Has this happened to anyone else? If so what should I be looking for or any advice would be welcome.

I'd suggest you do a pressure test and see whether/where it's leaking. If it's a slow leak it may well evaporate as quickly as it leaks so you won't see water just the remains of evaporated coolant, but if it's out of sight that can be hard to spot. If you do the pressure test cold you may find you can spot the water dribbling. It's also possible that the leak only occurs when it's hot, ...
