Correct jacking points?
Discussion
I assume that the only place is on the ends of the out-riggers but want to be 100% sure so that I can keep watch while the freindly local Kwik fit fitter replaces the rears!!
By the way, two SO3`s @ £124 ea fitted and balanced - not too bad is it? Ordered and due in tomorrow morning.

I've been told by a dealer - anywhere behind the front wheels or else in front of the rear wheels (i.e. the outriggers). But then again, I have been told by others on PH, NOT on the outriggers.
I always jack the car on the square-section tubing (it's the strongest after all!) near the front (just behind the 'spoiler' under the front valence or at the rear near to where the exhaust pipes come close together - hope this helps.

I jack up on the outrigger corners by the wheel arches and quickly stick an axle stand under the main chassis and let the weight onto it. Probably not the best, but I've seen several dealers do the same in their garages. A trolley jack won't go any further underneath anyway and I'm darned if I'm going to use that dodgy scissor jack once the wheel is off (except for a wheel change if I need to of course).

I've had my Chimaera up on 4 stands recently while I waxoyled it. I put the stands under the main chassis tubes as close to suspension mounting points as I could get them, using the logic that these are the strongest points. Yes, they're not that far apart, but it seemed stable enough.
