oil volume

quick one this, can anyone please tell me the volume of oil that is needed for an oil change on a 5litre chim, just about to order some on line and I havnt got any referance material with me.

Pretty sure its 6 litres if changing filter at same time.

thanks, it comes in US gallons ( approx 3.7 ltr) so a couple of those should do the trick, plus a little spare for topups.#

I preety sure that the amount required is stated in the handbook that came with the car. Chim 4.0l takes 5l of oil, so would assume that yours may need a little bit more.

My Griff takes 6 and a half litres to replace the oil. I know because I've tried filling with 6 a couple of times and only got to half way up the dipstick.

ah, well i've just ordered what equates to 7.5 litres, thats to top up whats in there at the moment and for the next change,....hope i've gone for enough....should have checked the handbook really...oh well...can always get soemn more ..
