Sometimes when I start I get a weird noise. It sounds like a magnet or something flicking on and off. It generally lasts a minute or so then goes away? Could this be the door solenoid - maybe it is flicking on an off? Strange that it only happens when cold? TBH I'm not that bothered about it - should I be?

Any advice?

Had that with mine, turned out to be the door switch on the passenger side knackered. Seems they pick up loads of dirt etc. Cheap to change and cured the problem. Dont understand why yours only does it from cold though confused

Any chance you could tell me what part I need, and where to get it from?

Cheers!

Try the following link

Apparently if these are worn or corroded the alarm and central locking thinks that the door is open and sets off a relay. I changed both of mine, so I hope this cures your problem, although I am still unsure why this only happens when cold?

well when i say cold - it happens when i start the car. perhaps a loose connection? then it seems to bed in after a while. but the sound is definately like a relay clicking on and off quickly and it does sound like the door. thanks
