At a friends and my Chim won't let me in. Keyfob doesn't do anything, I changed the batteries recently (2 months ago) so am sure they are fine. I tried the old use the skull to increase signal strength trick which didn't work.

Can someone PM me details of how to get in, also, will my immobilizer key shut down the alarm siren?

Cheers,
Rich

Nope. I discovered this a while back when my alarm siren failed at the same time as the drivers door solenoid. I thought I had left the car unlocked and sure enough drivers door opened so I must have right ? (didnt know about dodgy solenoid at this point). Pressed the alarm button to turn off the immobiliser but nothing it just kept blinking. So I stuck the immobiliser key in its slot and away we went. about 100 yards down the road I was puzzled by my inability to turn off the hazard indicators with the switch. Finally realised that I was driving along with the alarm going off . Turned off engine and was then able to hear some feeble bleeps from the siren unit.

I ended up getting my mate to drive me home to get my spare keyfob. I remembered when I changed my alternator recently my keys were on the ground and it started raining, this probably didn't help the batteries.

My siren is deafening so I wasn't up for that going off in my mates quiet neighbourhood.
