In an attempt to keep my P&J looking as smart as possible I gave it a good wash at the weekend and ended up putting my hand through the rear screen (the stitching gave way). After getting a few quotes from independents of around £300 I found this place in Chessington, only £225, it was all done in a day and they have done an excellent job. Another supplier to add to my list of Recommendations! Also, you can now actually see through the screen, didn't realise the old one was so hazy!

thumbup thanks - useful recommendation. I need mine doing (it's mostly held in with silicone sealant at the moment) and Chessington is near enough to me to consider.

perfect timing as my rear window has just cracked on both sides where it bends when being put down

I guess the stitching only has a limited life. Well worth doing. Just need to get some Aerospace 303 on it to help stop UV hazing (according to what it says on the bottle!)

Hope you're keeping well - we were on the same Ultimate Car course the other year with UK Bob!

laugh did the same thing a few weeks back!! Had mine replaced by Hoods Galore in Hockley, Essex.
Highly recommend them for anyone over this part of the world.
And very true Russ, the difference is very surprising!! As I walked up to pick the car up, from a distance I thought the new screen hadn't even been stitched in it was so clear!! laugh

I saw a TVR a few cars in front of me coming out of some event - may have been the Goodwood FOS - and I swear he didn't have a rear screen.

I did wonder at the time if perhaps he had had some sort of modification where the screen could be unzipped like with the Mazda MX-5.

Does that sound plausible or was it perhaps just an optical illusion that his screen was not there?
