Need some help, just changed the rear pads to mintex and have noticed 2 things

1. They squeal when i brake, I also have new rear discs.
2. They create a lot of brake dust

Are these more suited to track work ? and should I have bought a different make / type like EBC ??

Your comments are most welcome.

Many Thanks

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I have EBC rotors and Green Stuff pads on the rear and although they don't squeal or make that much dust, they do squeek. Incessantly and irritatingly, except when the brakes are applied. Have done the shim thing but still no different. TVR...brake noise matters frown

I wouldent bother with performance pads at the rear they only do approx 20% of the braking anyways, and no pad squeal is not a problem with this stock Ford kit,its those competition grade pads thats your problem,i would just fit stock motorcraft(gen fords) pads and discs on the rear(you get an half decent handbrake as well)wink

Sounds to me like either you didn't clean up the calipers & disks well enough before fitting the new pads or the h/b mechanism wasn't freed off. It is possible to cook them before you bed them in, I suppose I just give them 100 miles of progressive 'warming' - dont know the exact science / formula which seems to vary with type of disk/pads anyway.

Another vote for any decent standard rear pads here(front would be a different matter).

For a can't get it wrong application just ask for rear pads for a Sierra Cosworth 85 > 93 all models.
