Replacing door seal..

Hello all,

I am looking at replacing the door seal strip on my 500 Chim, and am happy with what to get, but there is a slight problem in that the ends of the strip on the car are as the picture below:



Now I am happy that I will have to drill out the black rivet and replace it, but what is the best way to put the same ends on either side? Do I just cut the ends off there and glue them in place?

And does the strip just push on all the way around or do you have to glue it in place at intervals ??

sorry to the OP but I thought I'd ask as I'm about to do it after Lee......

I believe it should just push on all the way round, but I plan on gluing a few spots here and there.
