Renovo alternatives?

Try tap water. You might even find it slightly more effective than Renovo.
I don't understand why you should have so much trouble with Renovo unless there's basically something wrong with the surface on which you're applying it or your technique. Perhaps its impregnated with something a previous owner put on it that is repelling the dye (I'm assuming you're cleaning the fabric properly first)?.I used Renovo Reviver on my blue top over a 5 year period and was exceptionally pleased with the product, getting around 3 two-coat applications out of the half litre pack - which I think is good value. I always got an even finish and seeing (and feeling) the results of the application gave me great satisfaction.

I re/did my roof at the weekend with this stuff and had much better results than last time(had slight streaking before)once dried i applied two coats of weathershield and the results are a nice black roof and totally waterpoof,i have had no waterleaks since using this approach since purchase, but i applied the Renovo with a sponge, last time i used a brush and it was rubbish.

Thanks for the info.
I suppose if half a litre is enough to do the job a few times it's not bad value. (If it works!)
So using a sponge to put it on is the way to go then?
Whats the best way to prepeare the surface? Lots of hot soapy water & a good rinse?
Yes,i cant comment on the waterproof benefits of the product i use it do dye the roof back to black and let the Thompsons waterseal do the waterproof bit.I suppose if half a litre is enough to do the job a few times it's not bad value. (If it works!)
