I've had my first TVR, an x-reg Chim 450, for three weeks now. I've wanted one for years, & it's living up to it's dream-come-true status.

I think I'm right in saying that TVR adjust the pedals for the first owner? Does anyone know if you can get this done on used cars, or is it a major hassle? Reason I ask is that I think the pedal action would be more comfortable if the pedals were closer to the floor, so that I could rest my heels - particularly clutch heel, when operating them. Advice appreciated.

Get your head under there and have a look

Try Leven Technologies for the pedal extensions

I would hate to think how strong a pair of calfs you would need, to use the clutch based soley on pivoting your foot and keeping your heel on the floor :|

Just use ya leg man

If my 4.0 is anything to go by, you wont be able to operate the clutch with your heel on the floor. There is a lot more movement than you would expect, and the weight of the pedal along with the movement doesn't make it possible. I've driven a 5.0 Griff, and this (I remember) was the same. I've got size 8 feet (if that has anything to do with it).

The pedals are moveable, but only fore and aft, although that does make them ultimately adjustable for heel & toe...

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I finally get to say "yes" next time the doctor asks if I'm doing any excercise.

JJ - a large amount of clutch-pedal movement is certainly something I recognise, but I've also noticed that the bite-point is very high in the pedal action - say within the first 15% of movement. Does that sound about right, is it one of those things that varies from car to car, or is this a sign of some impending maintenance costs?

I would imagine it would vary from car to car (but I am not an expert). My clutch (34k on the clock) bites near the v.top of the travel, and seems to have done so for the past 4 years I've owned it. It has never given me any problems at all. There is sooo much you can read about Trev's and their faults. Some will say that a clutch will only last 30-40k miles, whilst other say that with care, they should last about 80k. I would imagine that yours sounds normal (if not, mine and yours sound similar, there for if mine goes, I'll send you an email...!!!!)
