Can anyone help? Pulled the bonnet release on Saturday morning to do the weekly water and oil check and the wire appears to have broke off from the lock. (Nothing to get hold of. Have tried for 3 hours to push, poke and drift the lock between the bonnet and the lock but no joy. Any ideas before I take a hack saw to the bonnet!!!!

From under the car (you'll have to jack it up) you have to push the latch from the drivers side to the passenger side. I had to drop the starter on mine when this happened a few years ago.

If you are lucky(?) and the cable has snapped you can just pull the sleeve off and pull the inner with a pair of grips wink It is well worth putting 2 bullets on the end of the cable as it is normally these that come loose (VWP sell them).

Thanks Dave, sounds like an evening under the car tomorrow.
