Two great Guides along with getting a long to a PH meet or TVRCC meet and chat to the owners, that includes the help you'll find on here too.

Go to your local TVRCC monthly meet, sure the members will show you round the cars so you have a better grounding. Even if you have to press the headboys palm with silver it will be worth it to see so many examples in one place.

As nobody's mentioned it yet ... condition, CONDITION, CONDITION! - esp. chassis.

Well thanks for all the advise, Just got back from looking at my first and i am so dissapointed, what a dog!. It was described as stunning !!!. I suppose what was stunning was the fact that the car could not run for more than 10mins then failed to start again. Oh well the search goes on.

Don't be discouraged, but you might have to look at a few dogs before you find a good one. It took me 5 months but it's better to wait than to jump in and end up with a lemon!

I created a checklist to take with me so I remembered what to look at each time.

as said before condition...service history is a bonus not hugely essential on the older chims...

Main thing to check is the chassis and wishbones...just dont buy the first one you see like some numptys do... whistle
