New Chimaera owner
Discussion
Just thought i'd tell the rest of the world that i am now a proud TVR Chimaera 500 owner.
What a car, what a sound.
Would like to ask if any of you guys could let me know when this silly grin
i have will go away?
Fingers crossed i've bought a good one, looks nice, and if not i hope all you guys have the answers.
Cheers James

Hi James.
I got myself a TVR Chimaera start of September.
I only have a mere 400 but am chuffed to bits with it. I must admit I was after a 450 / 500 but after wasting months looking at poor examples and travelling miles I got impatient and looked at a 400 thats was only 65miles away. The car was almost £5K cheaper than what I had been originally looking at. It sounded like it was worth a look. When I looked at it it was better than all else I had viewed and hence considerally cheaper.
It also had full Henly TVR history and had had a body off stripdwon by them in 2004.
It passed all the checklist tests and I duly bought it.
I bought it as a dry weather toy and must admit I cant stay away from it and Im still grinning every time I fire it up.
I hope it stays that way.

Welcome. I'm a recent owner of a "baby" Chim. Half a lifes ambition to own and love it. All I expected and more. Only thing I will say is enter ownership with a realistic outlook and be prepared for any "surprises" that may or may not come along.
It's hand built and as good as the mood the guys were in that built it on the day ;-)
Enjoy and keep grinning.

Sadly not.. Do be careful not to drive her too much, or else you end up with a face stuck like The Joker... But it may be worth it.
i have will go away?Congrats on the purchase, take it slow and steady for a while to get used to her (depending on what you had before!), as many a new owner finds themselves staring out of a ditch...
