Whilst trying to remove/replace the nut holding my dash top I came up with a simple idea to make life easier.
When using a ratchet combination spanner in awkward places that you cannot see and everything is done by tough, it's easy to get the spanner round the wrong way so it's trying to tighten when you want to loosen etc;
Stick a bit of tape on the side of the spanner and you will therefore be able to feel which way round it is.
If using a ring spanner and due to the location of the nut everything is done by touch, again a bit of tape on the end that you want to use will ensure that you're not trying to undo an 11mm nut with a 10mm spanner.
Simple really, don't know why I never thought of it before, Oh well, older and wiser....

All my ratchet spanners have levers which define which way they ratchet? All the combination spanners I have, have the same size - ring/ratchet at one end and open end at the other?
