Hi All,

Just picked my Chim 500 up from V8 Developments in the UK last weekend, after letting them play with it for a couple of months. After an extensive mod package I have a different car. It is unbelievable. Was gonna sell my Purplemonster and buy a Tuscan, but Sean and James Crockett talked me out of it. The next minute I had spent a fortune with Sean at V8 and the rest is now history!!!!

Work Done: Stage 4 Heads, new Stealth cam, ACT triple plenum kit in sexy Carbon Fibre, inlet manifold, massive airflow meter, starter, Omex ignition system, Mark Adams chip and decatted ACT Y piece (second hand: thanx James Crockett), V8 Developments Rocker covers, new NITRAC grooved brake discs, Red Dor pads, braided hoses and a coupe of other things like speed sensor, oil press sensor etc, valvoline VR1 oil plus filter new air intake pipes with heat shield and a massive grin from ear to ear (stress reliever from Work).

Massive thanx to Ray, Sean and Rob, all work done professionally and not to say cheaply, but not ripped off as with some other companies.

I can´t believe how quick the car goes and the throttle response is unbelievable (fortunately she stops now as well!!!!!!!!). If anyone needs a recommend of where to get work/mods done, give me a shout.

Regards
Mark

Hi Nigel,

I bought exchange Stage 4 heads from Sean at V8, in fact all the engine parts apart from the cam and plenum were recon from Sean. Bought the chip and de-catted Y piece from James Crockett on Ebay. The silicon air intake pipes and heat shields from Ebay. Brake pads from Ebay Holland, discs direct from Nitrac, Calipers from Ebay.

All the Engine parts cost 2400 with 500 exchange refund for my old heads and injection system. The Stealth Cam cost 595 plus fitting. Rob mapped it all at V8, saving a fortune on a rolling road session at Mark Adams (Ray and Rob's recommend). BHP wise, Ray said it should be aroun d 70-75 BHP increase on the norm Chim 500. Managed to do it VAT free as I have NATO status here in Germany as an exchange officer with the German military (don't mention the War!!!) eek

0-60 is sub 4 seconds, my rough guess is around 3.6 - 3.8 and on the German Autobahns it is great.

Will try and sort out some pix over the next week, but am away on an anti terrorist Exercise til Thurs.

The stealth cam is great, I can recommend it and from 3000 revs it just lifts off. If you wanna change the cam, get the ACT plenum as well to improve the throttle response.

I think thats covere all the comments, let me know if not.

Happy Sunday
MArk

Sorry, forgot to mention the Clutch. Had my clutch change 3000 miles ago. Sean said it would be ok for now, but in future an upgrade would be beneficial. Have noticed that it does slip when loaded, but with care it is ok.

Next Project: Suspension upgrade, prob Gaz shocks as I can#t afford Nitracs any more. Have just bought complete set of Powerflex Poly bushes for the car from a chap on Ebay.

Yep thanks for the reply Mark, it sounds good and a lot of fun !!

I also considered a change to a cerb or tuscan but not sure I want the risk of the sp6 or the high potenial running costs.
