Just got a spec sheet from TVR. It says that the 4.0HC will do the 0-60 in 4.6secs and do a top speed of 156! Are these figures make believe or is mine just a bit slow?

So, go on then, what do you get in yours?

I know the S top speed was max revs in 5th, which is a little optimistic, but given a suitable hill ....

well i can do repeatable 5.5 0-60 without thrashing the clutch and the car so sub 5 is probably possible if you not to bothered about trying to drive the car home..

a bit like the diablo.. it will do its claimed 0-60 but only about 3 times before you need a new clutch AND gear box !!!!

and working back from the rev counter ( speedo bust at the time) i've had over 150 from mine,...

I normally take "autocars" figs as a bench mark
0-60 5.2 taken from twin test v BMW 328i convertable
from around 1995 full figs available on request

To get a good time you need a good road surface, warm and sticky tyres and slick fast gear changes. A good start is essential. This involves a lot of technique so it can be quite difficult to reproduce the factory figues most of the time but in reality they can be achieved if you want to give it a go. Trouble is get it wrong and things can break!
