which upgrade

been looking at the 4 l super charger for my low mileage chimaera , but i have been looking at the threads and i am even more confused. am i better off having the engine upgraded by some one like v8 developments or have the charger fitted to a standard engine ! thanks daz

If bang-per-buck is what you're after then the sensible options (best first) for a substantial power hike are:

• trade up to a faster car
• put a bigger capacity engine in your car
• tune your existing engine
• add forced induction

If you want to weigh up the options yourself then talk to the various suppliers and find out the cost and projected power gains so you can work it out for yourself. Remember to include the transmission/suspension/brake upgrades and the extra insurance costs in your comparison.
