Hi all,

Spoke to my RO last night who informed me the factory are offering 16inch spider wheels & tyres & brake upgrade for £1400. Bargain.

Anyone had this done?
Any pics?.
If looks good thinking of having this done and a headlight conversion. Cheapet than buying a Tuscan!

Do you know whether the upgrade will be done via dealers or direct and will thier be a wheel only option. Sorry to ask so many questions not neccaserily directed at you.

Thanks

Is that £1400 all done and dusted and fitted at the factory – or is that the wheels and tyres and brake upgrade delivered to your house?

Including VAT or exclusive of ... ?

The latter I bet.

From what I understand its £1400 including vat. Includes wheels, tyers and brakes, if you have an early car you may need the rear upright changing to accept the new brakes. It can also only be done at TVR in Blackpool.

I read about it about 2 weeks ago, my memory isnt great so stand to be corrected on any of the above.

It does not include fitting, I think it's including VAT, but there is a refundable surcharge on some of the parts (about £360 I think) so that TVR get them back to modify and ship out to the next happy customers!

Also it appears that the rear brakes may need to be modified at extra cost.

"The wheel and brake package quoted is for post 1994 cars with vented rear discs"

Mine is a post 94 car, but I does not have vented rear discs (I think!)

Have just rang Blackpool and booked car in. Is £1395 supply and fit. I am booked in for middle of July - takes a day.

That's odd, Tuesday they told me that they didn't actually have a date yet (waiting for parts) and it was £1,399 PLUS fitting! (which agrees with the news article on PH). A day's labour has got to add £200 or so.

Plus an exchange surcharge on the bits they want back.

Mine is of the road, at the moment waiting for this kit, (two bent wheels) the deal is its £1399 + fitting, there is a surcharge on top of this which is refunded if the items returned can be reused. have not herd of the requirement for extra mods to the rear breaks etc. When I spoke to Neil at the factory (he did the design etc) its all inclusive. mine is on a priority order with TVR and should be in the first batch of 10, apparently the wait at the moment is for Ford to deliver the disk blanks for machining

That's what I heard, ICB, if you've got it including fitting then you're on to a good thing there!

As for the rear brakes, this from the PH news article:

PH news 6 June said:
The wheel and brake package quoted is for post 1994 cars with vented rear discs (front discs dia 260mm, rear disc dia 273mm). Earlier cars (including potentially V8S models) with the smaller brakes would additionally require new rear bearing carriers and new rear calipers.

Mine is a post 94, but has solid rear discs, so I need to have another chat with Neill to see what's involved there.
