Hi there

My windscreen has gone a bit white in the bottom nearside corner, de-lamination I believe it's called. Not causing a real problem at the moment, but just wondered if it would be covered by insurance since it is not strictly accident damage.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Seriously doubt it. However, isn't there a large stone chip right in the middle of the windscreen? No? I'd chuck a stone at it until there is!

not that I condone insurance fraud, of course

I wouldn't throw any stones at it just yet; not until you are 100% a replacement can be found. Screens are rare at the moment.

Didnt think they were. Didnt David Geralds have the TVR stock ( with the TVR embossed on them) and ther are other people who have them too that are on these forums.A search should find them.

We have screens in stock but we are the opposite end of the country to the OP.

Just had a new screen fitted due to delamination and a rather lare stone chip too. Had a non genuine screen fitted originally which was very poor quality, and I rejected it, but now had an original fitted by the same company, but it took 3 months to get one. The end result is great but it took 6 months to get it sorted from start to finish.

I have de-lamination at both bottom edges of the windscreen. Thinks ..... new windscreen. The actual screen is quite pitted with numerous small chips but nothing major ....... yet! But now I hear that the original screens are in short supply - bit of a dilemma!

Just had one fitted by my local RAC Windscreens, and a good job they did too, insurance picked up the tab but if you were paying it would have been £415 fitted. rotate
No problem getting the screen at all, it was 'next day' the seals were the hard part, they were about 2 weeks, but I had some extra work that needed doing while the screen was out so not a massive problem. smile
