Whiz it down to the local place and they'll tell you what it is. The one off my '92 Griff was a 65amp which I replace with a 70amp for just £58. The 100amp version was £125 and since mine basically only recharges the battery and runs the lights - half of which have been changed to less power consuming LED's anyway - I couldn't see the point of upgrading for that price.
Oddly, my alternator had no labels at all to give me a clue of its amp rating, though the guy it the shop knew it as soon as he saw it.
Be careful when you get the new one. Although my replacement looks absolutely identical, the mounting lugs were about 8mm narrower and there was a spacer - a split piece of stainless by the look of it - actually pressed into the rear bolt hole to make it fit. Only trouble is it didn't and I ended up having to saw and file about 4mm of the spacer off to get it to fit. It works fine, and the connectors were identical but it just meant it was an hours work to refit it rather than the 10 mins it should have been.
