My house mate has a 4.0 1998 Chimaera, when he purchased it the bloke said that the history had been lost but can be recovered from TVR, this was a year ago and he hasn't got it sorted so i said id look into it for him, so you are my first port of call!

Any ideas if this can be done? or was he lied to?

Cheers in advance

Whilst TVR was still going, you could write to them (Mum) and request your history for £30.

Just before it closed all records were removed by a 3rd party never to be seen again.

Best bet is to go back to the previous owner and see what he has, not sure if the DVLA hold the previous owners names / addresses and how the people would feel if you wrote to them explaining you now own the car and due to the demise of TVR are going this route to get the cars history.

Bummer - I rang and asked someone and they told me to e-mail them, which I did several times - no reply.

And then the Russian muppet came into town.........

Can you ask you mum if she remembers mine, it is red one hehe

I had a car with no history and I got in touch with the people who supplied it new (sticker in the window!) and they sent me a copy of all the work they did on it, which was nearly fsh. It could be worth a try?
