Has anyone had their Chim chassis steam-cleaned? Would this be likely to cause problems? I am looking to get rid of layers of old Waxoyl prior to painting with Hammerite

Waxoyle is a nightmare to get off, If you use an engine cleaner on it first and the pressure wash it it tends to leave a nasty white residue. Personally I spray white spirit on with a hand garden sprayer, and then when the waxolye has desolved wipe it off with a rag / paint brush. If you really want to soak it, put cat litter under the car to catch the run off. The other problem with steam cleaning it forces water into all the crevises and screw threads, and it wont dry out in this weather. Dont steam clean anywhere near the electrics, they simply are not water proof enough.
