I struggled to keep up with a porsche cayenne S and a subaru impreza wrx. Mine is a 4.0L.
Should I be struggling?
Maybe it's time for a 5.0L chim, tamora or tuscan! biggrin

I find that with a wrx or summat, all the electronic wizzbangs give you more confidence to push it. Whereas the seat-of-the-pants style of the TVR gives you a better idea of whats really going on. Atleast you know that if you do beat them with a TVR its down to skill and torque not because you just revved it to seventeen million rpm. Who cares anyways, mine has a V8 and its a TVR, so none of them Subarubishi things will come close when it comes to looks, noise, fun and presence.

I know EXACTLY what you mean which is why I upgraded. Just too many 'average' cars now able to exceed the 4L's performance sadly.

I have to say I didn't push it too hard with either as I was aware that I don't have all the safety features they have. Maybe it was a confidence thing but I like to beat those euroboxes. I was just surprised that on the straight I struggled.
I love everything about the TVR, the looks, the noise, the presence and the Britishness and wouldn't consider changing, but I do like to win...who doesn't!
Just wondering if I am down on power and thinking maybe I need a rolling road check.

Those two cars are probably similar to yours in 0-60. But bearing in mind your car is probably not delivery peak power until 4500-5000 rpm - how hard did you push.

I didn't thrash it but pushed it. The impreza just seemed to edge away slowly...aaaaaaahhh. Frustrating! The porsche similar unfortunately.

Ask yourself who has the better looking and better sounding car and a car with a soul and a heart? I was tempted (a number of years ago) into buying an Impreza. I took a WRX Sti 555 Evo XXVI thingy out on a test drive and found it soul less and felt detatched from it. When I got back and handed the keys over I thought, "Was that it?" Never has a car left me so underwhelmed! As for that barge the Cayenne - just one question ..... Why?

Remember, if anything with a 2 sec advantage get away from you with a 0-60 time 2-3 seconds slower than your car then you are probably going to have to do 80-90 before you even catch it, and then you are looking at 110-125 before you start to leave it behind.

Don't even bother if its got 2 seconds on you.

Your just end up loosing your licence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
