I've learned more about TVR's and Chimaera's from this place in a week than I managed to find out in 3 from the trade sites (magazines, companies etc.).

Definitely the best resource for keen motorists I've found on the web. I am spreading the word!!

Have the TVR bug bigtime now, 22 days 'till I get home and I think I might start calling some dealers to visit and start on that slippery slope!!!

Anyone have any comments to make about Walldonway, DreamMachines, Adrian Blyth and any other dealers in the South East?

I just want some pointers about where to start, and if anyone has had good experiences I would be greatful for some tips.

What I don't want is to turn up and have some snotty git not take me seriously when I really need help and time to make some pretty important decisions.

Get yourself over to Fernhusts on the W.Sussex/Surry/Hants boarder.
I was in there on Teusday and they currently have more cars than they know what to do with!

Welcome.

I have only been a member on here for a short while, but I've learnt so much about TVRs too.

I have been looking around at Chimaeras for ages, but can't really afford to give one the care and attention they deserve presently, but that will change.

I can recommend Adrian Blyth as a nice chap to chat to. It appears on his web site that he has a nice selection in currently too.

I test drove a 5L from Hawthorns in Farnham, they were very helpful too.

Have fun looking around.

I have now owned my Chim for 3 weeks which I bought from ADG in Sevenoaks. They are not a main dealer but had 2 Chims and a Tuscan as well as other prestige cars when I bought mine. They were very helpful, also moved a bit on the price. I called then a couple of times after the sale as I had some questions and they were still interested in me and were very helpful.

Good to hear - there is one Chim at ADG that I've also got my eye on. The silver one with 29k on their website.

What sort of warranty did you get from them?

S Works,

If you pop along to a TVR club meet, or find someone local on PH, they will happily talk you through what to look for, and if you have Steve's book (The Bible) you should be able to pick up a good one. Just make sure you look around, and if you are near Windsor, let me know and I'll happily meet up and chat with my limited knowledge.

Thanks again - I'm definitely going to get Steve's book. Planning on ordering it from TVRCC the week before I come home so it's waiting for me when I arrive (in Germany at the moment).

I'm looking forward to building up my knowledge so that when I am ready to buy (prob Sept time) I will be as well prepared as I can be.

Hi Pies,

Would love to come along on the 28th. What time does it start? Just to make sure I know where you mean...

Come off A21 and come into Riverhead. Turn left at first r/about and straight across 2nd. Then up through DG past Tesco on Left, and the R&C is the pub at the fork in the road just after you go over the M26 bridge?

Cheers,

Tim

S Works,

As others have mentioned, pop along to the NW Kent SE London meet. There are always lots of owners to talk to who are willing to give you advice. You never know someone might take you out for a spin.

See you later in the month.

Thanks once again to all - it's exactly where I thought it was.

Will try to get along for the meet - I'm sure the missus won't mind (she's actually gunning for me to get one - can you believe that!).

If you see an awestruck 27 year old in a loud black mini turn up you'll know its me.

Hope to see you there!

Tim
