Top up - what oil
Discussion
My recently aquired Chim (97 500) currently has Silkolene Pro S 10w-50 oil in it.
It is due a service soon (1000 miles to go), but will need topping up with oil before then.
Can anyone recomend a compatible oil to top up with that is available locally (Woking). I do not wish to order by mail a small qty of the above oil (not economical)nor do I wish to order the full engine qty as it will soon be drained and refilled with new oil when it is serviced.
Who on this site tells the garage what oil they want put in their car.
I was thinking of using David Batty, Racing Green or Fernhurst.
Does anyone know what the above garages use ?

I don't see a problem asking them for a specific oil. If they can't get it then just buy it yourself and give it to them to use. Might even be cheaper for you to get it as they will only sell it to you at the RRP where you might be able to source it cheaper somewhere else !!For all oil questions - this is from the PH general tvr forum
