Has anyone converted their Chimaera to carb?

I'm still trying to cure my shunting/hesitation, and reckon that could be a simple fix.

Not even that expensive?

Any thoughts?

Apache did it ages ago (with V8d help IIRC), Andy TVRmonster had one I think, Guillotine (well 4 actually I believe) as well.

I've got a manifold & holley on the shelf if you want to try it out.

I've fitted one of these carbs on a 4 litre engine. It wasn't in a tvr but it sits lower than the injection set up and I was getting around 25 mpg on a run. If you get it set up properly you should get decent power too, I got 190 bhp at the wheels out of a 4 litre, standard valves with a mild cam and a bit of porting. Plus the fact they look great!

Oh I forgot, you will probibly destroy your catalysts, as I know of no production car that uses a carb with cat's. The fuel metering is just not accurate enough, but Im happy to be proved wrong.

I'm sure I've seen a system that used lambda feedback to control air pressure in the float chamber (of an SU, I think) via a small solenoid. Maybe one of the very last pre TBI metros?
