The pipe for the windscreen washer has detached itself from where it meets the wiper (driver side) and disappeared into the void below. The bible says the only way to retrieve it is to take out the dash board and cut a hole in the bulk head!
Please, someone tell me there is an easier way, I don't think I'll get through the MOT until its fixed. Any suggestions???

There is a easier way well you don't need to remove the dashboard.
This happened to me when i fitted the leven wipers.
Both tubes are connected to each other with a T peice.
Remove both wipers and nuts underneath to free up the wormdrive.
Push drivers wiper arm into the box.
You can then use the hole to fish the tube out with a metal coat hanger or long nose pliers.
Hope this helps drivers side is easier than the passenger side which is the one that came off for me.
If you need some jets leven should help you.

Does the MOT require wash jets or just that the wipers work ? If just the wipers it will give you more time to sort out the problem.

Washer jets need to work. My old 309 failed once in January because the water in the washer bottle was frozen!

For the drivers side there should be a 1" grommet sited under the bonnet mech, if so...mark the position by either marking into the paint with a blade or putting masking tape in place around the mech (so you can put it back in the same place), remove the 2 bolts and any packing washer etc. then carefully hook the T-piece up to the hole and feed a new piece of pipe from the pinion hole through to the grommet hole with a piece of welding rod. BE prepared to the same with the passenger side WHAT IS IMPORTANT is that you have the T-piece to connect to, and that it does not matter if you have extra lenghts of pipe hidden in the heater distribution box... the job is a fiddle, but easy to do.
I would add that if your car does not have the grommet then get a hole drill and grommet and but it in with a little silicone.
