Hi all,

I've been looking at a few Chimaeras and have finally found what looks like a reasonably priced good one. I've got a question or two about it. It is a 4.5 (done an HPI check and all is kosher) but it's got the old Fiesta rear lights, but the new front end. I.e. it's the usual TVR build of whatever's around the factory at the time. Personally I'd like to replace the lights with newer style units in keeping with the rest of the facelift. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Also, it's a non-metallic dark green. Is this going to be a harder car to sell on?

Thanks guys,

Rob

There is a bit of a cross over period in 97, this is how i understand it
very very late 96 new front/rear end single bar front grill colour coded rear bumper strip still fiesta rear lights uprated chassis and brakes on 400 models (worth looking for when condidering a 400 CHIM) "plunger"
type door opening and still black light buttons
From about Mar 97/introduction of the 450 more alloy bits for lights/fan ect and the introduction of the under door mirror door release
for the 1998 model year the rear was up graded to new rear lights and number plate location
This is just a generalisation there may be mix and match cars out there
As for the clour i think its called Cureton Green?? a non metalic which normally would be more difficult to more on ---but it is a TVR? Tony

Thanks all, I'll do some research on Monday. Beats working

Also, anyone know a TVR specialist in the Reading area that could have a look at a car for me and give me a report on it's state of health?

Thanks,

Rob

I would recommend David Batty at the Gararge, Compton (just outside Guildford). A sound guy. I believe he checks out all of Adrian Blyth's Chims.

Number is 01483 811995. Sorry, don't have the address.

Good luck.
