Having only had my Chim for a couple of weeks there haven't been any days that it hasn't been out, but with winter holidays coming I'm beginning to worry about the dreaded flat battery! I talked to a dealer about the idea of having a trickle charger installed that has a mains plug that comes out of the boot so that once parked in the garage it will simply plug in. Sounds like quite a nice neat solution, but if I forget to plug it in, or cannot for whatever reason, is there a way that I can open the boot to get the plug out? Would be a shame if I couldn't get to the charger because the battery was flat! The only way I know of right now requires the ignition to be on and the boot release button pressed...

2 - Does anyone know of/have experience with a good solar charger. Am considering a trip away next year and don't want to be caught out. I assume this would plug into the cigarette lighter and sounds like a good solution for those breaks away from home.

Cheers,
Nick

Get an accumate, it will only put charge in to the battery when it is required and can be left connected as long as you want, you can connect it to the battery, power supply under the bonnet or the cigarette lighter.
As far as getting in the boot is concerned when the igniton is off, nobody will or should tell you on here, no respectful TVR owner talks about that publicly.

I just got mine from Green Reaper - very good, and Chim seems a lot happier!

that's what I've got and that price is cheaper than I paid. Worth getting the cigarette lighter lead which is extra
