4.3 oil usage ?

Do the 4.3 use much oil ?

checked mine today, and it needed a little top up. Not a lot happy to say, but just wondered do they use much in general ? as i may be happy with a little use and then find everyone else doesnt use any lol

My 4.3 Griff uses a bit, but it is only a little bit - less than 1/2litre on the round trip to Le Mans this year - roughly 1000miles

I use Silkolene Pro S and it certainly uses less oil than when I used Mobil1 for a short while until I knew better

The oil usage depends greatly on the oil itself and the state of the engine. On the whole most of the 430's seem to use a little I wouldn't be alarmed if 1/2 litre per 1000miles is used. Any more and you may have a leak. Some oils seem to 'evaporate' faster whether they are sticking to bores and being burnt, or you have sh@gged valve seals ????
