Does anyone know if the TVR'S in the state of standard tune as they are, will accomodate this new bio fuel that will eventually replace good old petrol.
If so, will they run properly??
Thanks

Don't know what bio fuel you have in mind, but if you're talking about ethanol I'm sure it would require substantial changes to the engine management system.

Ethanol would require probably require you to change the fuel pump too. Not sure its all that imminent to be honest. I would embrace it, more power and a nice crackly engine note are some of the benefits.

this is something i'm in intending to look into also as part of a wider range of upgrades. Take a look at http://www.bioperformanceuk.com/index.php as it has some intesresting info.

IIRC i think someone on the Gtiff forum has already had their's converted (ready for when supplies become more widely available!)

Dont RPI do LPG conversion for the Range Rover? Should be much the same if you can get a tank to fit.

I thought I remembered someone telling me that the Rover based TVR engine could not be converted to LPG because of it's performance level?
Am I right or wrong ???

I doubt that's true. The only reason I can think of is that the CR is too high, but TVR don't use particularly high CRs and it's quite common to convert the RV8 to run on LPG.

I dont think you would get a gas to detonate under compression like diesel fuel.....

Thats true, we use wartsila engines offshore which are dual fuel diesel/gas but still need about 10% diesel when running on gas solely to provide ignition to the fuel, incidently getting the gas to the required injection pressure of 340bar wouldn't be too easy either in vehicle application
