Front numberplate fixings
Discussion
I used to have mine screwed into the lower lip, just sandwiched some rubber washers to stop the plate vibrating on the body. Recently I made up a couple of brackets that fix under the undertray, easy enough with ally strips - they are hidden

Hi Don,
I've used a hollow wall fixing (called 'Rawlnut' IIRC). This is a rubber 'plug' (for want of a better description) with a threaded centre & a flat headed screw through the middle. As you tighten it the rubber plug expands & grips the fibreglass. Don't overtighten. The plate might end up slightly angled either up or down, but care with positioning the holes should obviate this. Mine is pretty much spot on, but as long as the plate can be read from 60ft it will be legal (I believe). Any DIY store should supply - I used Homebase.
BTW, don't have the plate too far down - it will hit ramps/road pox ! I positioned mine with approx 50% of the plate above the lip. Makes a big difference to engine temps.

I reduced the size of the plate to half the normal and kept the lettering almost standard, just 3mm smaller and no problem from the Police, I change it at MOT time, but heh it looks good and easy to fit,
Once you screw it into the body its never comes of.
Helps air flow, I say,,
