Body off any tricks, suggestions ?
Discussion
I have inspected my chassis really close and it has a lot of rust at the mid outrigger outer end, where the two triangular plates are welded on, the rest of the frame looks very good, with only minor surface rust. Over here in Germany the TÜV (mot) is extremly strict with any rust or rot at frame parts, so I thought about lifting the body a bit (3 inches) to clean the tubes thoroughly. or lift the body completely off, get the engine, gearbox, supension and the rest off the frame as well and have it completely new powdercoated. My best friend runs a high tech powdercoating business for years and blasting coating would be very cheap for me. is it a lot of work to get the body off? I cannot find real advise in the bible.

I have just finished doing this (do a search on here for the thread...complete and utter body lift or something like that).
If you are going to lift it 3 inches you are still going to have to undo most things anyway so you might as well go the whole way and lift it right off...
If you take it right off then you can fully strip everything off the chassis and get your freind to shotbalst and coat it for you...at least you will know it will last for ages and you will get to know your car inside out...
